The textbook series selected for the project will be chosen by The Mazer Corporation based on a number of criteria. First, the series must be designed with simplicity and directness in mind; many of the embellishments of graphics and colors used in modern textbooks present a real challenge to the disabled reader. Second, the publisher of the book must be willing to work with Mazer and gh on a distribution plan, including possible residual payments, that is economically viable for both producers and consumers of the books. Third, the books selected must have content that is appropriate for adoption in multiple states including Indiana in order to maximize commercial potential. An example of such a textbook series is the Saxon Math series , with whom Mazer will negotiate for the adoption of their product for the proposed research. The grades chosen are grades 6, 7, and 8. It is at these grades where advanced mathematics such as Pre-Algebra and Algebra are first introduced.
